Full process quality control management

Full-Process Quality Control Management

Raw Material Receiving Inspection

Inspection Items: Fabric color variation, weight per square meter, shrinkage rate, colorfastness; specifications and durability of accessories (zippers, buttons, etc.).

Operating Procedures:

  • Sampling Ratio: Sample according to AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standards (e.g., 32 pieces from 2000 fabric items).

  • Testing Tools: Color chart, fabric weight tester, tensile strength tester, washing machine.

  • Records and Archiving: Retain inspection reports; immediately isolate and return non-conforming items.

Cutting Process Inspection

Inspection Items: Fabric piece dimensions, symmetry, color variation, defects (holes, stains).

Operating Procedures:

  • 20% of cut pieces are sampled per batch, with dimensional deviation between paper patterns and actual pieces ≤0.5cm.

  • Color difference is judged according to Grade 4 or higher standards (GB/T 250-2008).

  • Non-conforming cut pieces are reworked or scrapped, with root causes documented.

Sewing Process Inspection

Inspection Items: Stitch density (12-14 stitches/3cm), stitch flatness, seam alignment, and fastening strength of accessories.

Operating Procedures:

  • The assembly line conducts hourly spot checks on 5 semi-finished products, focusing on critical areas such as collars, cuffs, and pockets.

  • Reworked items must be labeled with the defect (e.g., “loose stitching”) and re-inspected by the team leader.

Finishing Process Inspection

Inspection Items: Clothing flatness, fabric damage caused by ironing temperature (e.g., yellowing, deformation).

Operating Procedures:

  • Inspection ratio: 100% inspection.

  • Temperature control: Set according to fabric type (e.g., cotton at 150°C, synthetic fibers at 120°C).

Packaging & Finished Product Inspection

Inspection Items: Hangtag information (size, composition), packaging integrity, folding standards, accessories (spare buckles, care labels).

Operating Procedures:

  • Verify packaging details according to order specifications and proceed with packing.

  • Re-inspect reworked nonconforming items and record packaging error rates.

Pre-storage Sampling Inspection

Inspection Items: Overall quality of batch-produced finished goods (appearance, dimensions, workmanship).

Operating Procedures:

  • Sampling shall be conducted according to the AQL 2.5 standard (e.g., sampling 80 pieces from 1,000 items).

  • A Quality Control Sampling Inspection Report shall be issued, and goods may only be released upon passing inspection.

Through the above process-oriented management, we can systematically enhance quality control efficiency in garment factories, reduce quality risks, and achieve a balance between production and quality. By integrating a digital ERP system for real-time monitoring of data across all stages, management can be further optimized.
